In response to the Memorandum of the Office of the Regional Executive Director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-IX), personnel from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-IX (MGB-IX) served as Resource Person during the Orientation and Deputation Seminar to personnel of the Zamboanga City Police Station 5 (ZCPS5) on October 8, 2021.
e-Turo (Virtual IEC) Caps MGB-IX Mining Month Celeb

This year's Mining Month and MGB 123rd Year Aniversary Celebration have been loaded with several activities. One of the highlights of this celebration was the first ever virtual IEC dubbed as e-Turo (MGB ZamPen's Virtual IEC) and adopted theme: "Responsableng Pagmimina: Kaagapay sa Pagbangon ng Ekonomiya sa Gitna ng Pandemya" which was livestream via MGB-IX's Official Facebook Page.
DENR CO Hosts Last GAD Virtual Training for 2021

The National Gender and Development Focal Point System (NGADFPS), through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) organized a virtual Training on Gender-Responsive Behavior Changes to Address Climate Change last September 30 to October 01, 2021 via zoom platform.
Attended by RGAD-TWG Alternate Emma Deverala and Member Elsa Dolotina, said training aimed to enhance the skills of DENR Regional Gender and Development (RGAD) Focal Points and Information Officers in communicating the concerns on climate change to communities and influence their behavior to continue to reduce their carbon footprint and adopt a gender-responsive, climate-smart and resilient lifestyle given the urgency and rapid pace of climate change. As such, the need for new strategies to effect behaviorial change have been recorgnized that would appeal to people’s emotions, leveraging social norms, and the like were seen as potential paths for the more sustainable use of natural resources and curbing climate change impacts.
MGB-IX RGAD-TWG attends first regional GAD budget forum

Members of the MGB-IX Regional GAD-Technical Working Group (RGAD-TWG) attended and participated in the first regional Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget held via Zoom. This activity was organized by the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC), which is a special committee under the Regional Development Council IX, in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW).
